Life in Germany
Continuing from yesterday, I show pictures and stories about my travel.
The next country is the Netherlands.
Amsterdam in the Netherlands
To be honest, Amsterdam was not so good as I had expected because there were not so many nice sightseeing spots and it was so crowded.
However, Zaanse Schans, which is a little bit far from Amsterdam, was a good place for sightseeing.
Amsterdam Centraal (アムステルダム中央駅)
I was surprised at this gorgeous appearance just after arriving at Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, this was the peak of my emotion in Amsterdam.
I had the same feeling when I visited Sendai in Japan.
Kanaal (運河)
As you know, there are many canals in Amsterdam.
I thought the main activity there was to enjoy this atmosphere.
De Dam (ダム広場)
This is one of the most famous spots, but it was crowded and not so impressive for me.
Zaanse Schans (ザーンセスカンス)
If you visit Amsterdam, I would like to recommend this village.
It takes about 30 minutes by bus from the central station.
This village is famous for a lot of traditional windmills.
As you can imagine, it was windy there.
I was able to not only walk around the windmills but also enter them.
It was interesting for me to learn how the wind energy is used.
The rotational energy generated by wind is converted via many wooden gears in order to cut trees and grind dyes.
I was able to feel the history of engineering in Netherlands.
Train trouble at the end
This travel had gone on as scheduled and I had thought it was perfect until a train trouble happened.
It happened when the train were approaching my destination and I prepared my baggage to get off it.
I was standing in the aisle, but the train didn't stop even though the destination time had already passed.
Moreover, checking Google Map, I noticed the train was going to another direction.
About 10 minutes later, a train stuff said "The next station is Stuttgart".
All passenger were upset because it takes about 1 hours from the original skipped station to Stuttgart station.
It was unbelievable!
I knew trains in Germany are not reliable, but I was not able to understand why such a serious mistake happened.
Due to this trouble, I wasted about 2 hours.
However, I got a compensation letter in the train.
If I send this letter and it was proceeded successfully, I can receive 50% of the fare paid.
I will try it this weekend.
I understood it is difficult to finish a travel in a foreign country without any troubles.
That's all of my travel this time.
As a next plan, I'm going to Schloss Neuschwanstein (ノイシュヴァンシュタイン城) with other Japanese expats in the middle of June.
I'm looking forward to it.

・He originally ran in dirt races, but he will challenge this turf race this time. It is usually difficult for a dirt horse to show a good performance in a turf race. However, he has already won a dirt GI race twice and that race was held in Tokyo Racecourse 1600m. Judging from this fact, he is good at this distance and this type of course. That's why I think he can also run well in the turf course.
・For example, a popular white horse, Sodashi, got the 3rd place in the above dirt GI race. After that, she won Victoria Mile (GI), which is a turf race held in Tokyo Racecourse 1600m. This could be good evidence for my prediction.
