Day 2 of the trip
Continuing from yesterday, I would like to write a blog about last week's trip.
After leaving the hotel in Düsseldorf, I went to Köln.
As soon as I got off a train in the main station, I found the famous building "Dom".
I was so surprised by its size.
I walked around it and took many pictures.
Unfortunately, I was not able to enter a main room in Dom maybe because an important religious event was held.
Instead of that, I decided to go up the stairs in the building.
In the entrance, I found a notice saying "No lift, No joke", whose meaning I figured out later.
The spiral staircase like this continued for a long time.
I was so tired, but I somehow reached at the middle point.
From that point, the stair changed to the following type.
My fatigue was translated into a fear because I could see under my foot on this kind of stair.
I wanted to go back to the ground, but I was not able to give up because I had already paid an entrance fee.
I overcame my fear and fatigue and finally arrived at the top.
As a result, the stairs had 533 steps.
The nice view from the top made my heart conforted.
After going down the stairs, I went to a treasure house in Dom.
Many treasures were displayed there, but I was not able to understand their values.

After leaving Dom, I crossed Rhine river.
This bridge is for train, but we can walk aside the railway track.
I found the following statue, which reminded me of Date Masamune in Sendai.
I took a picture including Dom, the bridge and Rhine river from a high building.
I finished sightseeing in Köln and headed to Aachen, where is also famous for Dom.
Dom in Aachen was registered as a World Heritage Site for the first time in Germany.
I was not so impressed at it because I had seen more wonderful Dom in Köln.
However, the interior design was very beautiful.
That's all about my trip.
I was so tired because I walked more than 45,000 steps and climed more than 500 steps during the trip.
However, visiting the above places was a priceless experience for me.
I would like to go to all famous sightseeing spots in Germany while I stay here.
